Teaching Philosophy
I believe every student deserves to learn in a safe and comfortable environment. As an educator I will be teaching to the whole student. I will understand where my students are coming from and where they are at in their education and in their lives. I will instill in my students the understanding that failure is normal part of life but it is what you do when you fail that matters. I will enlighten my students; math is not scary and everyone can succeed in math. I will form connections between their lives and what they are learning in my classroom to create enriched and authentic learning.
Classroom Management
My philosophy on classroom management is based on the ability to adapt to the needs of the students and teacher when needed. Leaning more on the Love and Logic side I will also use Conscious Discipline, Wong, and Marzano's philosophies because when I establish a positive relationship, the others will follow. Love and Logic shows the importance of building strong, professional relationships while Wong, Marzano, and Conscious Discipline shows the importance of procedures and consistency.
"Good classroom management is the art of dealing with problems positively and looking for solutions together so that everyone is involved and willing to find a remedy."
